Pick your Path – Lost Gold

“That’s a dumb idea, Jay” you say. “They’re wild animals and would probably kick you in the chest if you got too close”. Jay frowns and lays back down again.

You spend the rest of the day and night camping by the brook, exchanging jokes and ghost stories with your brother. In the morning, you hit the trail….and low and behold, you come to a boulder marked with a cross – just like the map says!

You eagerly begin digging and in a few minute you find a burlap sack filled with something heavy. Jay pulls the bag out of the ground, but the bag is so old and rotten that it rips open – spilling shiny golden coins over the dusty ground! You and Jay leap for joy and start putting the coins in your packs.

In a few days, you’re out of the high desert and on front of every newspaper in the country. Because of the historical value of the coins, the US Department of the Interior doesn’t let you keep the gold, but the both of you get “15 minutes of fame”, college scholarships for archeology, and a story you can tell the grandkids.
