Pick your Path – Lost Gold

“Fine” you say. “Let go take a closer look at the burros. Maybe if we give them some food, they’d be willing to carry our stuff for a while.”

You and Jay slowly approach the burros with a couple of candy bars. One of the burros imminently bolts, but the other one stays where she is, watching you with weary eyes.

“Good Burro! Good Burro!” you and Jay coo as you get closer. The Burro sniffs your hand, as if to take the candy bar…..but then suddenly rears up and hits Jay square in the chest!

“Arrrgh!” Jay yelps as he tumbles to the ground. You run to him as the burro trots off, cradling his head in your lap. “Ugh….bad burro….” Jay moans. “Oh man…kiddo, I think that flea-bitten beast broke some of my ribs!”

“It’s no use trying to find the lost gold now”, you think to yourself. “I’ve got to get Jay to a hospital.” Wrapping Jay up in blanket, you build a fire to signal the forest rangers. A few hours later, a Jeep pulls up to the brook and an annoyed-looking ranger loads you and your injured brother in the back – but not before giving you a stern lecture about approaching wild animals!
