There are a number of ways you can “metamorphosize” your Myspace and make a reflection of your own unique personality.
Lots of people get tired of the boring old blue and white background of Myspace pretty quickly, and turn to a commercial “layout generator” - a website that provides HTML code that you can paste into your profile (usually in the “About Me” section). The code removes the boring old blue and white background, and changes it to any number of colors or pictures. Here are links to 2 popular “layout generators” to get you started.
Another popular “Myspace mod” is to include “embedded” media – like a video or song. Adding a song to your Myspace profile is easy: just find the Myspace profile of a band or singer you like (almost all popular artists have a Myspace profile at this point!) using the Myspace Music link at the top of your profile. When the profile opens up, take a look in the top right-hand corner for the embedded music player – the artist will have a list of songs available for you to add to your profile. Select the one you want, click on “add”, and the song will then added to your profile and will play whenever you (or someone else) opens your profile.
To embed a video, it’s a similar process: go to a video clips website like www.youtube.com and find a video you like. In the upper right-hand corner of the video’s page in the “ABOUT THIS VIDEO” box, you’ll probably see the word “embed” followed by a long string of code. Copy the code and paste it into any part of your profile edit: about me page. You can put a music video in the Music section, a clip of your favorite TV show in the Television section, or a just a silly video in the About Me section!
