Peter Kuper
Kuper illustrates SPY vs. SPY for MAD magazine. He has adapted versions of Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis and Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle.
1) Turn off lights when you leave a room. How hard is that?
2) Don’t leave the water running when you brush your teeth. Water scarcity is a big deal which is only getting bigger.
3) When you are done with a six pack of soda snip those little plastic rings which hold the cans. These sometimes end up in the ocean where those rings strangle wildlife. These things take 450 years to break down and that is plenty of time to choke things.
4) Recycle more than bottles, cans, and paper. You can repurpose your clothes or paint old furniture to save money and resources as well as show your own style and creativity.
5) Use both sides of a piece of paper. The trees will appreciate it.
6) Try not to use Styrofoam or, if you absolutely have to, use it more than once. This stuff is completely nonbiodegradable. A thousand years from now archeologists are going to be digging up the cups and coolers that we use today.
7) Speak up, send letters and emails to politicians and corporations telling them how important the environment is to you. You are a resident of the Earth, don’t let them mess with your crib.
